TAPIO® Paper Printability Sensor (TPS)

A NEW METHOD OF ESTIMATING PRINT QUALITY

The TAPIO® PMA provides the tools to study the paper and paper printability in many ways. Some examples are:

* correlation between paper quality and printed quality
* measuring weight of the ink on printed paper
* estimation of paper printability before printing it
* automated missing dot detection
* mottling studies
* uniformity of solid print area
* darkness of the print area
* print density



The special TAPIO® Printability Sensor provides an efficient tool for analyzing the above problems. One important factor is that with TAPIO ® PMA the printed samples can be very long (compared to traditional image analysis techniques with about 2x2 cm areas) thus providing strong statistical backing for the conclusions.
